Winterlude, Canada’s winter celebration, is held in Ottawa–Gatineau each February - three fun-filled weekends for the whole family. Dog sledding, snow castles, ice slides, outdoor parties - over half a million people brave the cold and visit the dozens of sites around the nation capital region. So grab your coat, put on your tuque, and make sure to bring a thermos full of hot chocolate - you'll need it!

There's also the world famous Rideau Canal - the world’s largest skating rink. The ice extends 7.8-kilometres and runs through the heart of downtown Ottawa. Winterlude organizers were probably the only ones cheering for extreme cold temperatures over the last few weeks (many days at around -30F) - it's the only way the Canal, the biggest attraction of the festival, can freeze properly.
Visit www.winterlude.ca for a list of all the activities; and if you can't make it to my little part of the world, enjoy the snow before it's all gone! (hopefully, that's very soon!)
